Our Hot Tub Delivery Process?

All of our products at Natures Space are generally very easy to set up, and require a minimal amount of preparation before delivery. You will need to make sure you have a firm and level location for your product. Please bare in mind that hot tubs WITHOUT the quick drain upgrade will drain from the bottom like a bath. Hot tubs are happily located on gravel, grass, decking, or even concrete. If you have ordered a wood-fired hot tub you will need access to a garden hose or similar water supply to fill it up, as well as a couple of bags of dry firewood to start it up. If you have chosen an electrical product it is important you contact a competent electrician to discuss the safest way to connect it to the mains supply.

When you receive your delivery, your product will already be fully constructed and ready for installation so establishing access to the final location of the tub is key. The driver will help you positioning the hot tub, but you will need some man power at your end if there are no lifting facilities. 4 men can normally carry the tub without major issues. If this location is particularly difficult to access Crane services are readily available across the country at around £100/hour and one hour in most cases is more than enough to lift the hot tub into the final position.

If you have decided to opt for an electrical product  it will need to be installed by a fully certificated and qualified electrician which you will need to arrange. Natures space accepts no liability for injuries caused by self or unqualified installation of any of our electrical products, self or unqualified installation voids all and any warranties on our products and put the occupants at great risk.

How to maintain a wooden hot tub?

A Fully wooden hot tub, similar to a wooden fence or a terrace made of ordinary planks, requires considerable maintenance, while our other other hot tubs with internal made from fiberglass or plastic require less maintenance. What you have to do in order to properly maintain your wooden hot tub?

Swelling in the wood pores will absorb moisture and this will prevent water leakage through small cracks.  Hot tubs made of plastic or fiberglass are watertight from day one. The hot tubs made of thermo-wood experience less water leakage.  Swelling of hot tubs is a simple process – all you have to do is to pour water up to a brim of the hot tub and leave it for 2 to 5 days.

Wood treatment of hot tubs  protects the wood against a negative effect of moisture. This should be done at least once a year. If you wish to preserve a natural colour of the wood we recommend you apply natural wood oil on the outer side of the hot tub, the sill/rim edging (if chosen) and the wooden lid (if chosen) . NEVER OIL OR TREAT THE INSIDE OF THE TUB AS THIS RESTRICTS THE SWELLING PROCESS, CONTAMINATES THE WATER AND WILL DAMAGE YOUR TUB.

A fully wooden hot tub should not be over-dried as this will cause leeks and the tub will have to be re-swelled. Therefore, you should keep the hot tub filled with water during warm seasons. When draining water (to clean or to repair the tub) you should not leave it empty for long periods of time. Please keep in mind that you should not over fill your hot tub with water. There should be a gap of at least 10-15 centimeters between water and the brim of the hot tub when no occupants are inside as this prevents over spillage.

A hot tub during winter seasons should be cared for in a similar fashion. Our hot tubs are designed for all year round use and are best experienced in the winter, however you should not keep water inside a hot tub during freezing temperatures. Expansion of frozen water risks damage to the wooden hot tub and any upgrades fitted to it. During winter there is enough moisture from the surrounding environment to keep the tub from shrinking too drastically , if water still leaks you can allow the tub to swell or simply slightly tighten the steel hoops on the hot tub.

When not in use your hot tub should remain covered, this is done in order to prevent debris from falling into the water and to protect children and animals. If you have chosen to purchase a hot tub without a lid we recommend covering the tub in a plastic sheet, however a properly fitted lid is always our top recommendation.

We advise in order to clean the water in your tub you should use various bacteria and algae eliminating chemical disinfectants and water clarification agents. The same agents are used in outdoor swimming pools as well as tubs and are easily available online. This will ensure better protection of the wood and the tub users. If you use a hot tub frequently, you should clean water regularly. If have not cleaned the water in the hot tub for long time, then you should remove the water, and clean the tub itself before re-filling with clean water. You can also use products containing bromine, chlorine or active oxygen for this purpose.

Hygiene. It is advisable to take a shower before and after bathing in the hot tub.

    Plastic & Fiberglass Hot Tubs

The reduced maintenance required for plastic and fiberglass tubs compared to fully wooden barrels, has clear advantages. The properties of these tubs help reduce the build-up of bacteria and allow for easy cleaning. They can also be disinfected easily and left empty for long periods of time without risking damage to the tub. Do not keep water inside any hot tub during freezing temperatures. Expansion of frozen water risks damage to the any hot tub and any upgrades fitted to it.

How long does it takes to heat up the water?

We advise the water temperature is not higher than 38 or 40 degrees Celsius before getting in tub. This will ensure a pleasant spa experience.
